Little Muse for March
In English pubs, ale is
ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England , when customers got
unruly, the bartender would yell at them 'Mind your pints and quarts,

Pays to Go
Green
There has never been a better time to treat your yard to a
design upgrade
that extends your living space and transforms your yard into a “green
oasis”. New this year-watershed districts around the metro area are
paying out “green” (valued at up to $500) for landscape designs that
include sustainable practices like rain gardens, permeable patios and

Top Dressing with Compost-the Safe Bet
for Many Lawn Problems
Good
soil is living soil. The health of your lawn is completely dependent on
what you don’t see-underneath. One tablespoon of soil should be teaming
with billions of microorganisms. These microscopic organisms are the
reason we have plants and trees. In nature, soil microbes enrich soil by
converting fallen leaves, limbs and other debris into nutrients plants
can use.

Ask a Question:
Should I use Landscape Fabric?
Landscape fabric has been a mainstay of our
industry for years. This synthetic fabric once promised to provide weed
control until eternity. New research along with our everyday experience
of pulling up mountains of the stuff in many of our clients’ yards
proves the falsehood of this claim. If you’ve ever tried to pull weeds
