The "Ice Man" picture above was taken by our local Osceola artist, Jim Dimers along Cascade Falls. Amazing art can be found when spending time with Mother Nature as Jim often does to find inspiration for his beautiful work.

Your support in 2009 is so much appreciated. We are gearing up for another exciting season.

Winter brought some much needed time to continue our education. Germaine got to participate in two fantastic conferences at the Chicago Botanical Gardens in February.

She heard Dan Pearson, an internationally renowned designer present, “Spirit in the Garden” and Midwest Ecological Landscaping Association annual conference was all about sustainability. We are thrilled to see so much excitement around sustainable landscaping in our industry. This has been our commitment since first starting in business 10 years ago. With recharged energy , we are even more fired up to bring our clients the most up to date practices and many more options in sustainable and ecological landscaping.  If there is someone you know who might be interested in our services and expertise, we would appreciate the referral as there is no better compliment than a direct referral from a valued client.

A Wee Bit of Extra Green Luck in the Shamrock

Family Values Are Back! Landscaping Trends for 2010

March is a great time to think about improving your landscape. In the past, people thought of landscaping as simply something pretty to look at.  But now with the economy in mind, your backyard is becoming an inclusive part of your living space, with ROI potential that goes beyond typical home improvement projects.
You want your landscape to look good, fit your lifestyle, and reflect your values. Like anything, landscaping is subject to trends. But 2010’s landscaping trends are reflecting what’s been brewing in America.
The recession is forcing people to take a hard look at what is really important in life. Now, along with lay-offs and belt-tightening there’s a welcome trend emerging: a return to family values. The shift in priorities moves across the board from bank accounts to backyards.

Here are a few of the trends:

Family Values are In                  Wall Street Values are Out

Outdoor Rooms are In               Lavish Vacations are Out

Edibles are In                              Humongous Lawns are Out

Water Conservation is In           Resource Wasting is Out

Sustainable and Green is In      High Cost Maintenance is Out
